A few weeks ago I topped over 700 posts on this blog. I have tried to write as much as I can in the hopes of adding value out there, sharing ideas, thoughts, and conversation. I'm moving through a different season in my life. Relationships, growth, depth, and family are escalating in priority and focus and it just seems harder and harder to open up those pages to the internet. It's pretty hard to convey patience, forgiveness, personal growth, and contentment in a blog. Well, I guess it isn't but when you see people do that it really reads as self promoting and "I'm so awesome" in tone or at least "look at me." I don't want to do that.This blog has been about events, teaching, games, and leadership. Those are so easy to pen and convey.
Now I see that the blog is losing it's identity because those things are old hat. I have talked to my wife about not blogging but we both agree I would want to resurrect things later. I don't know if it's possible to reset or reinvent but I see an impending change.
This shift would go from talking about student ministry elements and their execution to talking about the elements and their spiritual implications. This is a big difference. Perhaps this is why I have been bored with idea sharing. Who really cares about all of that stuff if it doesn't create relational leverage? You will probably soon see a split on this blog or a corporate break-up if you will. This company will be divided in three parts...
