Leaders,I just want to thank you for how you have handled this transition and the changes we are making. As we approach the school year I am excited about all that I know God is going to do in the lives of our students. This coming school year will require a lot from us with prayer, energy, and effort. It will not be in vain or for anyone other than Christ so this is a great time to take serious inventory of what is ahead of us.
1. The Uprising at McNeil has one last series that is deep in nature before the school year starts. After that we will go to a very structured, highly energetic, non-believer atmosphere for Wednesday night. In September our new environment for helping students go deeper and take further steps will be the Tuesday night gatherings.
2. Middle school will go to services at every worship hour. At first we will see a small group of kids but it will increase steadily and rapidly.
3. The Uprising South begins September 14th. This represents a new paradigm of thinking, collaboration, potential, and communication that we have not seen before. Get ready to see Danny and his team do cool things.
4. We have a big service project fund raiser in the Fall. This is hugely important to our budget but even more important to the community and our kids. In addition to this the Spring Fund Raising Banquet will be an incredible investment in the future of the Uprising with awareness and opportunity.
5. Throughout the year the changes that are made or carried out will sometimes create tension. Communication and focus will be extremely important. The enemy loves to create division through pride and fear. There are no sacred cows at the Uprising and fear or apprehension will never be adequate reasons to not move forward.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
- We need to pray and be connected to Christ. We have no hope of doing anything of value without Him.
- See yourself as a servant to everyone on this team and especially the students.
- Be courageous. Don't accept mediocrity.
- Support the Uprising's endeavors. Help people be risk takers. If there is no ethical, moral, or Biblical reason why we should not push forward with an idea or goal than there is no reason to not try it and own it. Let God and his vision be bigger than us or ourselves individually.
- Love each other and pray for each other as well as the rest of our team.
Have a great day. You are appreciated and valued. I love you and I am excited to see God do great things through you.
Lastly, I love the way this verse is conveyed in the old school King James. This verse is a great reminder to us of what I am trying to prepare us for.
"There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee" Psalm 53:5
